Organising your wedding is an exciting time, but let’s face it, it can also be stressful. There are rings to choose, a date to lock in, bridesmaids and groomsmen to organise and so much more. Of course, one of the most important things to decide is the wedding venue. Where you hold your wedding ceremony and reception is something you’ll remember forever and if you live in or around Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills is the prime location to consider.

So, here are our top tips on how to find the perfect wedding venue in the Adelaide Hills.

5 tips to help find the perfect Adelaide Hills wedding venue

What do you want your wedding to be?

From large and traditional to intimate and laid-back and everything in between, consider the overall ‘theme’ of your wedding. This will help dictate the type of wedding venue that’s perfect for you. For example, for a more traditional wedding, a church or large ballroom could suit, while for a laid-back affair a beautiful garden setting or beach could be perfect.

Number of wedding guests

Obviously, the number of guests you want to invite will play a key part in deciding your Adelaide Hills wedding venue. If your guest list is large you’re hardly going to fit them into an intimate room.

You want to feel comfortable on your important day and you want your guests to be comfortable as well, so choose a venue that can cater for them.

Wedding budget

It may be a bit dull to consider costs leading up to the most romantic day of your life, but whether you like it or not, your budget is another key factor in deciding the perfect wedding venue.

While having a fixed budget may be too ambitious, at least have a good idea on the overall amount you want to spend, as well as a clear idea on how much you want to spend on key items, such as your wedding venue.

Finding the perfect Wedding Venue

By all means, get on the Internet to conduct research to help you find the ideal Adelaide Hills wedding venue, but don’t just rely on what you see online.

Contact potential wedding venues and make a shortlist of venues to visit. We’re talking about the Adelaide Hills, right, so spend a day or even better a weekend visit. Chalk it down to important research!

Prepare a wedding plan

Have at least a rough plan on other important details for your big day, such as a celebrant, flowers, catering, music, photo opportunities, the wedding cake and more. A good Adelaide Hills wedding venue will be able to help you with many of these things, to help reduce the stress for you.
